Programme structure

The programme takes 2 years, 1 ½ of which is the common core subject part with project based instruction. The final ½ year is an individual part with a company placement and final examination project. The programme consists of nine theme projects.


Programme Themes

Theme 1: Intro Project – 2 weeks 2 ECTS
You will learn how to carry out the initial phases of problem-oriented project work and how to present the results found. You will also get a general overview of the logistics and transportation field.
 
Theme 2: The Company – 9 weeks 14 ECTS
You will understand the internal processes and objectives of the company and learn to use strategic analysis models in order to make logistically relevant decisions.
 
Theme 3: The Market – 9 weeks 14 ECTS
You will get an insight of different types of company environment and how they affect the organisation. You will learn about national and international socio-economic development and types of market.
 
Theme 4: Procurement – 9 weeks 13 ECTS
You will learn about the various stages of procurement and be taught how to negotiate in English etc.

Theme 5: Production – 11 weeks 17 ECTS
You will acquire insight into the various production processes – from receiving raw materials to storing finished products. You will also learn about the roles of management in the production process.

Theme 6: Distribution - 10 weeks 16 ECTS)
You will study how finished goods are moved from warehouse to customer.  You will learn about transportation forms and law, distribution planning and the logistics service concept.

Theme 7: Information Management – 10 weeks 14 ECTS
You will learn how information management can be used to optimise the logistical efficiency. You will acquire understanding of the integration between various logistics and corporate information systems.
 
Theme 8: Specialisation – 10 weeks 15 ECTS
The aim is to provide the student with business competences and to combine theory with practice. Through a company placement you will obtain knowledge of the business area and internal business processes.

Theme 9: The Final Examination Project – 10 weeks 15 ECTS
The final project will give you the opportunity to apply what you have learned during the programme by analysing a practical problem and presenting various solutions.
