Examinations/grading scale

The skills, learning and knowledge of the student will be examined in a number of ways throughout the 2-year period of the Programme.

Projects and Assignments

Each of the Compulsory Subjects and those covered in the student's Elective Stream will be examined throughout the delivery of the Programme by the use of projects and assignments. The conclusion of the Programme will be linked with the delivery of a final exam project that will be researched, prepared and submitted in the final term.

Written Examinations

At the conclusion of both the first and second year of the programme formal state approved examinations will take place covering a number of the subjects. As some subjects are concluded at the end of the first year, the examinations taken in these subjects will be considered to be the Final examination in that subject. By the conclusion of the second year all the subjects making up the student´s chosen programme will have been examined by means of a written examination.

Oral Examinations

A number of subjects will include the completion of an oral examination.

Participation in Classes, Workshops and Seminars
The learning concepts and environment of the Programme require the active participation of the student in class as well as the other teaching and learning activities of the programme delivery. Students will be assessed on their involvement and contribution to these activities and events.

Occasionally students will be expected to make brief written and/or oral presentations to their class. The quality of these presentations and contribution of the student to the learning environment will be assessed.

Grading Scale

The Danish grading scale for the marking and assessment of educational achievement is the 7-point grading scale where the results are given on a scale from -3 to 12. Each of the major elements of the programme will be assessed individually in both the first and second year of the programme and students failing to achieve an appropriate level in the classroom environment and minor assignments will not be entered for the final examination. The average of these grades will produce the grades given in the documentation supporting the award of the AP Degree. (For a student to be awarded the AP Degree in Marketing Management the minimum pass level is 2 at all exams.)

For some subjects the results of examination will be given simply as "Passed" or "Failed" with no further grading being indicated. (A full listing of the grading is given below.)

For the assessment of students the following system is used:

12 - For an excellent performance displaying a high level of command of all aspects of the relevant material, with no or only a few minor weaknesses.
10 - For a very good performance displaying a high level of command of most aspects of the relevant material, with only minor weaknesses.
7 - For a good performance displaying good command of the relevant material but also some weaknesses.
4 - For a fair performance displaying some command of the relevant material but also some major weaknesses.
02 - For a performance meeting only the minimum requirements for acceptance.
00 - For a performance which does not meet the minimum requirements for acceptance.
-3 - For a performance which is unacceptable in all respects.
